Hotel Q'ana Itz'am (K-ahnah Eetz-ahm) is a community run hotel located in the remote jungle of the Rio Dulce. Q'ana Itz'am is a Q'eqchi God responsible for protecting nature. As stewards of our forests and waters we invite you to come visit and experience the beauty and tranquility of our village.
We offer a unique experience in a one-of-a kind setting. We are located in the Biotopo Chocon Machacas, a preserve for the manatee, where you are surrounded by the beautiful jungle and wildlife of the Rio Dulce. This area is a nature lover's paradise that is not to be missed.
We are located in a functioning Q'eqchi (kek-chee) village, offering visitors a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the Mayan world firsthand. Our hotel is managed by local villagers and offers traditional food and dance as well as the opportunity to live alongside genuine descendants of the Maya.
The hotel is community run, and profits benefit the development of our community.
